Evaluating Applications — The Review Pipeline

Evaluating Applications — The Review Pipeline

Once applications start coming in, you need a structured way to evaluate them. Cohortly's Evaluations module gives you a multi-stage review pipeline where your team can score applications against defined criteria.

The Evaluations View

Navigate to Applications → Evaluations to access the review pipeline.

How It Works

  1. Applications arrive — When someone submits a form, it appears in the Applications inbox
  2. Move to review — Assign applications to reviewers or move them to "Under Review"
  3. Score against criteria — Reviewers score each application on predefined criteria
  4. Compare and shortlist — See scores side by side to identify the strongest candidates
  5. Make decisions — Accept, reject, or request more information

Application Pipeline Stages

  • Submitted — New applications waiting for initial review
  • Under Review — Being evaluated by your team
  • Shortlisted — Promising candidates for further consideration
  • Accepted — Approved to join your program
  • Rejected — Not selected for this cohort

Evaluation Criteria

You can define custom evaluation criteria for each application form — for example:

  • Team strength (1–10)
  • Market opportunity (1–10)
  • Product readiness (1–10)
  • Innovation factor (1–10)

Each reviewer scores independently, and the system calculates average scores for easy comparison.

Tips

  • Assign multiple reviewers for unbiased evaluation
  • Use the filter tabs to quickly focus on applications at each stage
  • Export applications to CSV for offline review or board presentations
